Drawing inspiration from the interwoven threads of Swartland's diverse terroir, Warp + Weft wines showcase the region's unique character and rich viticultural heritage. The name itself, "Warp + Weft," reflects the intricate weaving process, symbolizing the harmonious fusion of varietals and flavors that define their wines.

This wine emerges from a rich heritage of winemaking in South Africa, dating back to the initial plantings in 1659. However, it embodies a distinct quality seldom found in North American wines. Crafted from 30-year-old vines, nurtured through dry farming methods, it is a collaborative effort with the Basson family. For four generations, they have stewarded this Swartland estate, contributing to the wine's exceptional character.

"The wine opens with complex but inviting aromas of black pepper, graphite, damson plum and spice cake. The palate is rich and dynamic with dark fruit notes of mulberry, black raspberry, currant, and dried figs. Silken but lengthy tannins carry the wine from start to finish, with notes of spiced cedar and blood orange lingering on the finish."
